Judicare Portal Moves Legal Aid Practitioners Online

Legal Aid South Africa is rolling out the Judicare Portal, a flagship component of Release 2 of its Electronic Legal Aid Administration System (eLAA). The secure, centralised platform gives accredited and prospective Judicare practitioners a single self-service hub, moving their dealings with Legal Aid South Africa away from manual, paper-intensive processes.

Everything in One Place

  • Onboarding and accreditation: practitioners can register, manage their profiles and complete accreditation workflows online, with automated onboarding and vendor creation.
  • Offers and matters: Judicare offers can be viewed, accepted or rejected electronically, with case status tracked in real time.
  • Billing and payments: accounts, progress reports and payment tracking are handled in one place, making financial workflows faster and more predictable.
  • Account support: automated password recovery and a dedicated service desk let users resolve issues and log support requests without delay.

Benefits on Both Sides

For practitioners, the portal offers 24/7 access, full visibility of case progress, faster turnaround times and less paperwork. For Legal Aid South Africa, automating these workflows improves data accuracy, strengthens user verification and security, and provides robust tracking for greater accountability.

By drawing on modern system design and integration across justice partners, the Judicare Portal supports a more connected justice system and strengthens public trust in the services that people who rely on legal aid receive.
