Department Of Social Development (DSD)

Responding to the President's 2018 call to address GBV and femicide the Department of Social Development (DSD) integrates social services with justice efforts to address the root causes of crime, particularly gender-based violence (GBV) and femicide. The DSD_IJS Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Command Centre links SAPS and social services, ensuring that GBV victims receive immediate support. The Alternative Care Management System digitizes child protection services, ensuring timely interventions for vulnerable children and reducing administrative inefficiencies.
